Notable Sporting Events of 2018

Watching Basketball Tournament

Time sure moves fast. It is midway through the year already. Despite that, there are still a number of sporting events that you better can look forward to in the remainder of this year.

Here are a few sporting events that you need to look out for this 2018.

2018-2019 NBA Season Begins

This year’s NBA season is about to begin in a few months. The regular season is slated to blast off on October 16.

Last year, the Golden State Warriors won the Playoffs again. The superstar lineup still looked unstoppable, and it seems like no one is ready for Curry and his team.

The opponents of Golden State, the Cleveland Cavaliers, put up a valiant effort but ultimately weren’t even any close to beating them.

Lebron James is still hungry for the gold though. After the season, he was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Last season, the Lakers were a team to look out for as they showed amazing teamwork and coordination. Now, they look to break the big time by adding superstar James as well as other acquisitions.

It seems that the Lakers are starting to build a strong team to surround James with so that they can be contenders in this (or next) year’s playoffs. They also gave one year deals to JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, and Lance Stephenson.

Will the Warriors be able to retain their title?

NHL Global Series Challenge

NHL’s Global Series Challenge is kicking off this September.

It starts in China, with the Boston Bruins taking on the Calgary Flames on September 15 and 19.

On October 1, Switzerland plays host to the New Jersey Devils against SC Bern. October 3 sees the Edmonton Oilers against Kolner Haie in Germany. October 6 moves to Sweden where the Oilers face the New Jersey Devils.

The final game is in Finland, where the Florida Panthers meet the Winnipeg Jets on November 1 and 2.

NFL Regular Season

On September 6, NFL’s regular season opens.

Last year, the Philadelphia Eagles played underdog against the football Goliaths; Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. In last year’s Super Bowl, the David’s came out the victor in a Cinderella story that saw them win it all with their backup quarterback, Nick Foles.

That season just showed everyone that with a dedicated group of individuals, anything is possible. And every single team in the NFL has the potential for greatness.
